Dan Hurring – Company Director
He is a 35 year-old events, social enterprise and project management professional with a passion for positive social change. He lives in beautiful rural Somerset but work across the South West and beyond as required.
For much of the last 15 years, Dan has worked as an event producer, organising socially- and environmentally-conscious festivals, gatherings and conferences. He has run a number of event management companies, including a Community Interest Company (CIC) and Charity, all of which have aimed to operate with environmental and social best practice in mind.
Dan enjoys the huge challenges outdoor events throw up and the opportunities for learning. He loves the strategising and the need to find quick, often radical solutions to imminent issues, practising the Brazilian saying ‘Dar um Jeito’ – ‘There is always a way’.
Dan says he always had an interest in community organisation, fed as a youth through his love of human geography and addiction to civilisation-building computer games. Festivals, to Dan, seemed like a natural extension of the digital fantasy world building…
Dan enjoys and excels at the Community and Local Authority Liaison aspects of event production, as well as taking great pleasure from the project design elements. He is an expert in Premises Licensing and design & delivery of Event Management Plans. Dan is also a perennial networker and has, in his own words, ‘a knack for meeting the right people at the right time’ which makes him a great partner and consultant on venue-finding enterprises.
